D of I Mother/Daughter Potluck
(including the Living Rosary)
Approximately 61 members with mothers, daughters, friends, and other family members attended the D of I Mother/Daughter Potluck on May 9th.
After the fantastic meal, we gathered in a circle to pray the Living Rosary, led by Father Ted. As we recited our prayer - we lit a candle - it was a very beautiful, meaningful ceremony.
The Living Rosary was recited in honor of our living and deceased members of D of I.

Many of our teens and adults attended TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) in mid-March in Garden City. During this weekend, both teens and adults experience God's presence in their daily lives. Being aware comes a deepening of our relationship with Christ, through prayer, meditations, many games and fun activities.
Governor's Award Recipient
Holy Family School is a Governor's Award Recipient for the 6th time!
Congratulations for a job well done!
"Rise up!!! The decision you make when you have the option to be mean."
This was the theme of 2016 Junior High Rally at Dodge City on April 3rd. 125 gathered for a day filled with faith, friendship and fun. I had the pleasure of taking a group of 6th, 7th & 8th graders from Prince of Peace Parish to this event. Keynote speaker was Sarah Swafford, found of Emotional Virtue Ministries. She spoke about the drama that surrounds us and the emotional roller coaster we all ride on. She addressed head-on struggles all of us(young and old) face everyday. Local high school members of the Diocese Youth Council shared personal experiences using the information Sarah shared in their own way using the questions: Hello, can you hear me? and Hello, can you hear him? A very educational day packed with faith for all that attended.
Personal thanks to Nathan Clair, Sid Cooper, Laura Daniel, Alicia Enriquez, Esperanza Esparza, Angelica Gurrola, Brody Feist, Alyssa Habash, Hailey Hicks, Rodrigo Ordonez, Tomas Vargas, & their families for allowing me to be part of this amazing step in your faith journey and for opening your heart and soul to this experience. Special thanks to Steven Polley and the entire Youth Council for always putting on these spiritual events for our young church, and showing them how great our God is. A huge than ks to Luke Blair, Sue & Brett Cooper, Adriana Gurrola for getting up early and giving your Sunday to help me. I couldn't have done it without you. I am blessed beyond words.
If you haven't had the chance to attend a youth rally, please look for the announcement next year - it is so worth it.
"When you give, give generously and not with a stingy heart; for that, the Lord, your God, will bless you in all your works and undertakings." Deuteronomy 15:10
Peace and Grace be your always,
Amanda Clair, Director of Faith Formation (K-8th)

We thank Fr. Mike Scully for sharing his knowledge to help us better understand the Scriptures, Listening with our hearts, To make God a force in our lives; to study ourselves carefully admitting the possibility that we really are selfish; Playing David Letterman and giving us the Top Ten helps to leading better spiritual lives.
The session for the Youth on Wednesday evening was Awesome - Fr. Mike spoke to the teens regarding Leadership Principles and Positive Thoughts in Modern Music(relating Songs to the Gospel).
Thank you to Faith Formation Commission, Hospitality Commission, Fr. Don, Fr. Ted, and Fr. Louis and all Parishioners for helping make this mission a success.
