Prince of Peace Parish has NO storage space to store all birth certificates, therefore you need to resubmit copies of birth certificates for each sacrament. 

For those unbaptized: A copy of the Birth certificate is required.

For those baptized: If your child was baptized at Prince of Peace (either St. Patrick or St. Rose church), we will not need a copy of baptismal certificate. Otherwise, a baptism that has taken place at another church will need to submit a copy of their baptism certificate. A copy of the Birth certificate is required no matter where the baptism took place. We need to have a copy of their Baptismal and Birth Certificates to verify for our Sacrament books.

This is a process in which unbaptized students ages 7 - 18 experience and learn the basic beliefs of the Catholic faith. They also participate in the English or Spanish OCIA rituals. Parent sessions are provided to help the parents have a better understanding of how they can support their children as they walk this journey of becoming Catholic. These children celebrate the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil.

For those students who are baptized, have reached the age (age 7) of reason (knows the difference between right and wrong), and are older than the 2nd grade will be placed in the OCIA-Y class.  They also participate in the English or Spanish OCIA rituals. For whatever reason the child missed the traditional reception of the Sacraments of First Eucharist (celebrated in the 2nd grade) will now receive the Sacraments of Initiation (First Confession, First Eucharist, and Confirmation) at the Easter Vigil. 

Effective with the 2023-2024 school year, OCIA-Y moved to a 2-year preparation process. 

The family will need to register every year for OCIA-Y class.

OCIA-Y begins in the Fall of each year, with sacraments received at Easter Vigil when the preparation is complete.
